Fred Perry, Polo Fille, Printemps Eté 2009.

Mon séjour à Londres fut court mais revivifiant.
Question culture, je dis non à Rothko (l’art abstrait, pas mon truc…), oui à la Tate Modern, re oui à Hussein Chalayan (quand il veut où il veut), et super oui à Hummingbird et Portobello où je séjournerai la prochaine fois (enfin tout à coté… c’est direct de chez my buddy D.)

D. m’a d’ailleurs fait découvrir un des meilleurs spots d’English breakfast (vous savez les oeufs, le bacon et les baked beans) dont je ne me rappelle plus l’adresse mais je vous la donnerai… Le spot est fort sympathique, très convivial, et j’y ai dégusté un cheeseburger fait maison absolument délicieux !

Ensuite nous sommes passés chez le pape du son, j’ai nommé Rough Trade (eh oui c’est mon coté “je bouge la tête en écoutant Tribe Called Quest”) et je me suis même acheté le plus beau vinyle de la terre sur le marché de Portobello… Un vinyle de Santana…

Comment ça je vous parle pas de mode… ?

J’y viens. J’ai fait le tour des Primark, Topshop et autres COS, vous pensez bien !
J’ai pris quelques photos de mes acquisitions. Alors je décharge tout ça sur mon ordi d’ici ce week end et je vous fais un petit compte rendu en détail, en particulier d’une petite folie shoesesque dégotée sur South Molton street que j’ai hâte de partager avec vous.

My stay in London was short but revivifying.
From an artistic point of view, I would say No to Rothko (abstract art is not for me), but Yes to the Tate Modern, another Yes to Hussein Chalayan (when he wants & where he wants), and a huge yes to Hummingbird and Portobello road where I shall stay next time (i mean not so far, as it is 30 minutes far from my buddy D house.)

Moreover, D. made me discover one of the best English breakfast spotlights of London (you know : eggs, bacon and baked beans…) whose address I can not remember to myself any more but I shall give it to you asap… The place is very nice and friendly, and I tasted a home made cheeseburger absolutely delicious indeed !

Then we walked to the pope’s of the sound store : Rough Trade (hey yes, it is my ” I move the head by listening to Tribe Called Quest ” dark side ) and I even bought to myself the most beautiful vinyl of the earth, at the Portobello market … A vinyl of Santana…

How is it possible I do not speak about fashion yet ?

I was about to… I made a fashion tour of Primark, Topshop and other COS, you indeed think !
I took some pictures of my acquisitions. So, I will unload all this on my laptop by this weekend and I will make you a small detailed report. In particular, we will talk about a small shoe thing madness i picked up on South Molton street whom I look forward to sharing with you.

Cette semaine, j’avais envie de couleur, et de confort.
Et puis surtout, j’avais envie de sneakers un peu chic… J’ai longuement débattu avec ma copine S. sur la stiletto de Sergio Rossi inspirée sporty. On est tombées d’accord sur une chose : la semelle blanche, on trouve ça moche, moche et re-moche !

Du coup on a rebondi sur les tentatives de la basket chic dans les collections cette saison (Lanvin, Vuitton…). Et pour ne rien vous cacher, nous sommes d’ailleurs encore sous le choc de la DKNY, cette basket (chaussure, pataugas, bottine… comment la qualifier ?) que je n’arrive pas à oublier depuis que je l’ai vue… Je n’arrive d’ailleurs pas à savoir si elle est absolument moche ou totalement désirable.
En fait si je sais, mais j’ai du mal à l’avouer : je la kiffe… CQFD : raisonnement paradoxal 100% fille.

J’en ai donc profité pour passer à nouveau en revue les leçons de style de la collection SS09 de la marque américaine, et là, surprise : j’aime vraiment beaucoup ! Un mix de vêtement inspiré du sport, des imprimés vifs, et tonalités sombres (noir, bleu, gris) rehaussées de vifs (corail, jaune, bleu cobalt)… Pile dans la tendance de cet été.
Alors plutôt que de vous présenter une seule silhouette, j’ai eu envie de vous montrer mon top… A vous de choisir (cliquez sur l’image pour l’agrandir !) !

This week is about color and comfort.
On top of that, I want some smart sneakers… I discussed for a long time with my friend S. on Sergio Rossi’s inspired sporty stiletto. We came to an agreement on the white sole : we definitely think they are too ugly !

We took advantage on it to review the smart sneaker attempts within this season’s catwalks (Lanvin, Vuitton).
We have to admit that we are still shocked by the DKNY sneaker (how shall we qualify it ? is it a shoe, a pataugas, a boot ?) that I do not manage – but i try – to forget since I saw it… I do not moreover manage to know if it is absolutely ugly or totally desirable.
To be honest, i think i know… But I have difficulty in admitting it: I just LOVE it ! Another kind of 100% girlish paradoxical reasoning.
As a result, I reviewed once more the SS09 style lessons of Donna Karan brand, And what a surprise : I like it so much ! A nice mix of garment inspired by sport, some lively printed matters, mixed and matched with some dark tones (black, blue, grey) heightened of lively colors (coral, yellow, cobalt blue)… Clearly a collection in total adequation with this summer trends !

L’ exposition tant attendue à Londres consacrée au créateur chypriote vient d’être inaugurée au Design Museum, en présence – naturellement – de Chalayan himself, soutenu par Puma (avec laquelle le créateur collabore sur sa branche fashion) et de quelques têtes connues : Erin O’Connor, Roisin Murphy…

Je serai justement là bas dimanche et lundi pour un week-end sur le thème “fashion intox de ma cb”, et j’essaierai de vous rapporter quelques images de l’expo, d’autant que je n’ai jamais mis les pieds dans ce musée… J’ai toujours admiré ce créateur pour sa mode futuriste, à la fois très innovante et très conceptuelle . Pour moi, c’est un peu un génie Trouvetout qui lie la technique à l’esthétique.

The so waited exhibition in London dedicated to the Cyprian creator has just been inaugurated in the Design Museum, in presence – naturally – of Chalayan himself, supported by Puma (with whom the designer collaborates on his fashion branch) and of some known heads : Erin O’ Connor, Roisin Murphy … 
I shall be exactly there low on Sunday and Monday for a weekend on the subject ” fashion intox of my cb “, and I shall try to report you some images of the exhibition, as far as I have never put feet in this museum … I always admired this creator and his futuristic fashion, at the same time very innovative and very abstract. For me, it is a bit the Trouvetout genius which connects the technique to the aesthetics.
